Judicial fines fund student life projects
It's every student's nightmare: an envelope arrives in your mailbox, informing you that the Student Community Standards Board is slapping you with several hundred dollars in fines. It could be for petty vandalism or underage drinking, or maybe just for having an unapproved appliance in your dorm that could be a fire hazard.

Eckerd adopts new class schedule
Beginning spring semester, morning classes will start earlier and last longer for all Eckerd students. Classes that normally begin at 8:30 will be moved to 8:20, and those that were 50 minutes in previous semesters will be lengthened to a full hour. Similarly, classes that were 80 minutes will be pushed to 90.

Eckerd struggles to add Arabic minor
Over the past few years, students and the Comparative Cultures Collegium (CCU) have been strongly invested in discussing the addition of Arabic minor to Eckerd's language curriculum. The college premiered its Arabic language program last fall with the introduction of an Arabic 101 class taught by part-time professor Youssef Salhi, which progressed into an Arabic 102 class in the spring.
