    In his State of the ECOS address last week, President Stephen Barber called on students to hold their student government accountable by encouraging involvement and highlighting the success of the flagship "small changes, significant impact" campaign.

  • Eckerd installs new speed bumps Eckerd installs new speed bumps

    Students returning from winter break found the geography of Avenue of States underwent a change. Nine new speed bumps were installed at the crosswalks along the campus's main road and between the Delta and Omega complexes. The new speed bumps are intended to address safety concerns raised by a collaboration of the parking committee, facilities and the executive staff, which includes President Donald Eastman, vice presidents and divisional heads.

  • Eckerd welcomes emergency response team

    Juniors Jeremy Bernfeld and Norris Comer's vision for change has set in motion a chain of events resulting in an Eckerd College Emergency Response Team (EC-ERT). Through close collaboration with Head of Emergency Management Group Lisa Mets, Dean of Students James Annarelli, Director of Campus Safety Adam Colby and a $5000 grant from the University of Miami, they have made significant progress in the start up effort.

This year, however, the tradition returns to offer reflection and provide an insight into what we have accomplished as well as what to anticipate for the upcoming semester.

    Mitt Romney came out ahead in the Florida Republican primary Jan. 31, taking 46 percent of the vote and leaving Newt Gingrich in second place with 32 percent, according to the Wall Street Journal. Romney's win comes after a devastating loss to Gingrich in South Carolina last month, boiling down to what former White House correspondent and USA Today reporter Richard Benedetto says is now a "two man race.
